Welcome to FRS
The Fundamentals of Robotic Surgery (FRS) is the definitive robotic surgical skills education, training, and assessment program. FRS is a multi-specialty, proficiency-based curriculum of basic technical skills to train and assess surgeons to safely and efficiently perform robotic-assisted surgery. The clinical robotic surgery subject matter experts developing the content for this program represent all of the major surgical specialties in the United States that currently perform robotic-assisted surgical procedures, the Department of Defense and the Veterans Administration (VA).
If you are interested in taking the FRS curriculum, click on the REGISTER FOR THE FRS CURRICULUM button to the right. This will take you to the Sign In page for the curriculum. Click on the CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT link on that page and fill in the registration information. You will choose a username and password to protect your information and to bookmark where you left off in the program. You must be a healthcare provider to participate. If you have already registered, click on the SIGN IN button at the top of the page to access the page where you input your username and password.
Why Take the FRS Curriculum?
Following the two year development effort by over 80 international robotic surgery experts, behavioral psychologists, medical educators, statisticians and psychometricians, we believe FRS will become the standard for robotic training. Surgeons are increasingly being required to document their competency, especially in areas involving innovative new technologies. This program offers surgeons the opportunity to demonstrate and document that they possess the basic knowledge and skills fundamental to the performance of robotic surgery.
